Blue Tiger Butterfly against a yellow bloom, Magnetic Island North Queensland Australia- Standard 3:2 ratio, Open Edition prints

from $90.00

During the end of May and through June, the coastal rain forest near Horseshoe Bay on Magnetic Island is visited en-masse by flotillas of Blue Tiger Butterflies. They are migratory species of the Genus Tirumala which visits most years from South East Asia but occasionally doesn’t make it. When they do, their congregations are a sight to behold and breath-taking to walk through. A vibrant blue almost “stained glass” look to the wings is the give away identifier, and in the late afternoon sun with a contrasting yellow bloom behind - this one just “lit up”!

These images are all wide ratio panorama with a 3:2 long edge to short edge ratio. They are printed on 280gms quality photo paper with rich permanent inks and crisp resolution across the frame.
