Green Sea Turtles are found in many of the world’s oceans. This girl was in the North Queensland Tropics and likely feeding on the sea-grass that coats the shallow bays of the Islands along that coast. Once mature they return to the very beach they were born to lay their eggs so the next generation start their own journey, in the same way from the same spot. Taking a breath here early in the morning, she will submerge for at least the next twenty minutes. A great fun challenge as part of an early morning walk on the beach up here, can be to guess where the heads of these cuties are going to be popping up next in the still waters behind the Great Barrier Reef.
