The town of Canmore, in the Canadian Rockies within Alberta, is popular with visitors all year. In winter, the clear dark skies of the mountains and the crispness in the night air bring on a special atmosphere of eternal nature. Whilst it’s often very cold, down to -22 degrees centigrade, it brings you an inner warmth. Alberta has declared a number of Dark sky preserves in its National and Provincial Parks, that allows even the naked eye to remain enthralled by a star filled night.
