The Milky Way at certain times of the night, and times of year, takes on an almost vertical appearance. The core here is near the base, and it almost appears as a rocket blasting off from Goat Island on Tasmania’s Cradle Coast in the north of the island state. The clouds of stardust in the central portion of the core, so etherial it staggers conceptions that the light captured here left those stars so so long ago. Night’s like this put so very much into perspective and how narrow our human concept of time really is.
