The balanced Bumble Bee atop Lavender limbs, North West Tasmania, Australia - Standard 3:2 ratio Panorama, Open Edition prints
Lavender has been cultivated for hundreds of years for it’s scent laden oils and capacity to retain both structure and scent when dried. Where the Lavender have travelled, it’s pollinators have often followed too. That is certainly the case in Tasmania where the humble Bumble Bee has made it’s home. Controversial though, as it is certainly an introduced species that competes with truly native bees, perhaps it may preferentially seek the introduced plant life too. Regardless it is impressive to watch and try and capture as it dances with surprising grace over the flower heads.
These images are all wide ratio panorama with a 3:2 long edge to short edge ratio. They are printed on 280gms quality photo paper with rich permanent inks and crisp resolution across the frame.
