Pirates Bay is also famous for the tessellated pavement formations, but step back up the trail a little ways and wait for the perfect morning light and you are treated to this view of the bay at Eaglehawk Neck on Tasmania’s East Coast. Surrounded by National Park it’s a fitting and memorable vista when entering the Tasman Peninsula. The tallest cliffs in the southern hemisphere begin here, and offer this view across the bay from this isthmus, barely 100m wide, linking to the peninsula.
