Salt-pan in the tropics - Wide 3:1 ratio Panorama, Open Edition prints
Tropical north Queensland is famed for it’s world heritage rain forests and vibrant beaches and the rim of the Great Barrier Reef, however it has it;s share of salt-pan deserts too. behind the estuary systems and mangroves frequently lie acres of shallows and flat land which during the end of Summer and the start of the dry season loose their water to evaporation and succumb to the salt left behind, producing acres of salt pan desert where only sparse profoundly hardy plants have adapted to survive. The colours are rich oranges and deep tan fringed with crystals of salt that mimic snow decorations and they both contrast to the deep open vast blue skies of late summer.
These images are all wide ratio panorama with a 3:1 long edge to short edge ratio. They are printed on 280gms quality photo paper with rich permanent inks and crisp resolution across the frame.
