Autumn along the canals Derbyshire, England UK - Wide 3:1 ratio Panorama, Open Edition prints
The Canals of Britain were the motorways of their era and provided inland navigable waterways across most of the country between large industrial towns and the ocean side ports. Once outside the smoke and smogs of the coal fired factories, these channels of commerce became idilic country byways with the “towpath” running in parallel for the horses that pulled the narrow boats and barges. Today many are still very much navigable and idilic and a reminder of a quieter time and slower pace - the countryside easily observed and appreciated from the towpaths and classic “hump back” bridges.
These images are all wide ratio panorama with a 3:1 long edge to short edge ratio. They are printed on 280gms quality photo paper with rich permanent inks and crisp resolution across the frame.
