The wetlands of Ingham are very rich in waterfowl and this bird is a unique inhabitant that entertains all day by appearing to walk on water. In truth it has huge feet that it deftly wields across the Lilly pads to distribute its weight. The red crest almost dances across the huge pads as it bobs its head up and down picking off water insects.
