There are many Australian icons especially in the natural world, but sometimes the habitat and scene they fill adds to that icon status. The Galah as one of Australia’s most attractive parrots is a ground feeding grass seed munching bird that spends a great deal of it’s life at ground level. It does however nest in tree hollows and is quite particular in the type and shapes of gum trees it chooses. To capture this image of a typically sunny day and an archetypal Eucalypt with it’s patterned bark, topped off by this very attractive pink flushed parrot was an absolute gift.
