Platypus are mostly solitary but that doesn’t mean they don’t know how to have fun. This little fellow was certainly chasing a few fallen leaves around the edges of this shallow pool area of the Mersey river area near Latrobe before returning to the task at hand. That task was hunting for small invertebrates on the floor of the shallows amongst the pebbles and small rocks. This also meant disappearing from sight for up to 20 mins and then re-appearing… likely where you least expect. So I made the most of these moments of frivolity and captured as many images as I could.
This is an open-edition print in either a lustre (semi-gloss) or matt finish
