Male Pheasant Coucal in full breeding colours and posing on a fence post, Magnetic Island Queensland Australia - Open Edition Standard 3:2 ratio print
The Pheasant Coucal is a very secretive bird, scurrying around the under-storey some-time around head height but often on the floor of the dense scrub. They eat large insect life and often control many grasshoppers and what would otherwise be pests. This male has his trademark jet black headdress on which extends over shoulders and down across his chest. Together with his more usual mottled “waist-coat” it is one time of year when he stands out. The rest of the year you often cannot see them, only hear their booming whooping call.
This is an open-edition print in either a lustre (semi-gloss) or matt finish
All sizes are listed in inches with a 3:2 ratio
Images are printed borderless and ready for mounting/framing
