The largest Eagle in Australia is the Wedge-tailed Eagle, a majestic site often circling high on thermals above open woodland looking for prey. This day I was lucky enough to see one perched on a collection of fallen tree branches in a paddock just 30 meters or so from the trail. His grandeur and stature just perusing the fields made it clear he feared no one and nothing. He was the Apex predator in these parts.
