Red Squirrel on a woodland moss trunk, Lancashire UK - Open Edition Wide 3:1 ratio Print
Red Squirrels are on a tenuous road to a comeback in the UK. Whilst once confined to a small refuge habitat in the woodlands of the Scottish Highlands, they are now gradually establishing stable populations further south in the coastal regions of Lancashire in northern England. That’s where this little chap hails from and he delivered an afternoons entertainment along side some friends, likely his brothers and sisters in the Squirrel reserve near Formby on the Fylde coast. Their red colouration striking against the woodland green, they are smaller than their invasive cousins, the Greys. As a young boy that grew up in the UK, a cheeky squirrel such as this was the iconic face of “Tufty” in the road safety campaign. I guess they have always had an endearing character about them in my thoughts since. They do inhabit many parts of northern Europe too so let’s hope they can survive an ever changing planet.
This is an open-edition print in either a lustre (semi-gloss) or matt finish.
All sizes are listed in inches with a 3:1 wide ratio
