Frogs, it’s easy to assume, love and live in the water. Yes the majority are at home there. However, Tree Frogs prefer to be out of the water and simply in continuous high moisture content. As the tropical temperatures of northern Australia allow for much higher humidity levels (consistently 80% RH +) then it’s a perfect home for these little fellows. As the heat intensifies towards summer months the humidity reaches its peak until the air can hold onto moisture no more and we get the “Wet”. Often heralded by a profusion of frog calls - deep and almost barking echoing out through the rain forests. The heavy rains come and persist for usually a few days. It will be a fair while before this little chap is barking his calls with the big males, but none the less he comes out from the undergrowth and low tropical plants to celebrate the downpour. Rain makes more green - a reason to celebrate if ever there was one.
