The Humpback Whale and their migrations across the earths’ Oceans is full of mystery, power and awe. This is the fluke of a female in a vast ocean just off the coast of Magnetic Island on the edge of the Great Barrier Reef, and the Coral Sea. She had given birth to a calf in the Tropical waters near the equator, and brought her young back along the East coast of Australia to teach them to swim in the calm and warm waters behind the barrier reef. A fluke to me is “proof” evidence that an elegant giant of our oceans, which was almost hunted to extinction by our own greed, is not only still there in-spite of us, but also is making a return to past numbers with every season of these migrations from Antarctica to the Tropics. To have this on my wall, delivers an evidence based boost to my endeavours on even the most challenging days. Natural resilience.
