This splendid male Olive-backed Sunbird with his iridescent blue chest and throat striking a contrast with his yellow belly. Almost as if to calm things down his back is a delicate shade of olive green. These plucky little birds inhabit much of North Queensland’s coastal regions and are particularly prolific on Magnetic Island. They bond as a pair and create an incredible nest that suspends from small branches, twigs and in some cases human made structures such as house eaves and cables.
This is an open-edition print in either a lustre (semi-gloss) or matt finish.
