The striking colours of this little bird are amplified by the red of the berries in this tropical tree. Sunbirds are prolific on Magnetic Island and create delicate little nests suspended from carefully selected branches, twines or cables in some instances. Both parents defend the nests valiantly whilst the chick is “home”. The females, like this one, have a vibrant yellow plumage across their belly and throat, with a delicate more subdued olive green back and wings.
This is an open-edition print in either a lustre (semi-gloss) or matt finish.
