In Arcadia on Magnetic Island, many creeks find their way to the ocean and into Geoffrey Bay by trickling through the granite boulders that make up the majority of the Island’s landscape. In the wet season following as much as 10 days straight rain, these creeks swell and develop a jumble of waterfalls in their descent from the central Mount Cook. Just off the hiking trails and you can be treated to this transient display of gentle bubbling fresh water flows. When paired with the brightest rays of sunlight pulsing through the tropical canopy it makes for an idilic cool scene on a very balmy humid day.
