Ice Fall, climbing the face of a frozen waterfall near the Devils Thumb at Lake Louise, Alberta Canada - Open Edition Standard 3:2 ratio Print

from $90.00

This frozen water fall descends into Lake Louise at the opposite end of the Lake from the Fairmont Hotel. In the coldest winter months it attracts a few courageous souls that take part in a very contemporary sport of Ice Climbing. The climber on the ice flow seems to be precariously wedged under some very threatening ice spears. As far as I can tell, his friends at the base don’t seem that concerned by the whole scene, so I guess that is part of the adrenaline rush. It is a message of persistence and endurance in this image, as well as courage, since I doubt there is an easy way down once you have commenced either. The blue hues of the ice, brilliant white of snow and opaque ice contrast strongly against the deep dark green of spruce, larch and pine . The only real warmth coming from the mountain rocks - let’s hope they all have well insulated gear.

  • This is an open-edition print in either a lustre (semi-gloss) or matt finish.

  • All sizes are listed in inches with a 3:2 ratio

  • Images are printed borderless and ready for mounting/framing

  • Prices exclude GST - 10% GST will be added at checkout

  • Shipping can be arranged for Australia or world wide as tracked poster tubes.
