Milky Way core over Ulverstone and the Dial Ranges, Tasmania Australia - Open Edition Expanded 2:1 ratio Print
The night sky in Tasmania is amazingly clear on a cloud free night. The fresh breeze, and often more from the roaring forties frequently mean any cloud is short lived too. So, well prepared on this moon-less night I headed up to Braddon’s Lookout and fixed my lens to the west. Taking in a sweep of rolling country side that delivers much of Australia’s vegetables and fruit, before it gives way to natural forest and mountains of the Dial Range. Nestled next to the ocean on the right are the bright lights of Ulverstone and Turners Beach, with the outskirts of Forth on the left. The detailed core of our Galaxy, the Milky Way sits atop like a blanket nurturing all below through a night of slumber. Unless you are a little Tassie Devil on the prowl for a dozy wallaby of course. This image is again a stitched set of photographs purposely tracked to envelope the vastness of the Milky Way core, the hub if you like of this spiral galaxy.
This is an open-edition print in either a lustre (semi-gloss) or matt finish.
All sizes are listed in inches with a slightly wide 2:1 ratio
Images are printed borderless and ready for mounting/framing
Prices exclude GST - 10% GST will be added at checkout
