English Lavender flowers, and their oils, deliver a very discreet fragrance that has been used as a perfume for hundreds of years. This field of Lavender bushes in Cheshire, UK is encircled by low woodland which concentrates the scents. The small rotunda at the back of this image makes for a delightfully fresh and bright retreat to spend an afternoon. Sitting there watching the bees hard at work and catching the gentle fragrance on the summer breeze.
